Al-Haqq (The Truth) - Exalted be He

He has made His evidences clear to those who behold and think, and made His signs clear to the worlds. He has rebutted the excuses of the obstinate and the arguments of the deniers, thus brightly revealing the proofs of His Lordship and Divinity and dispelling doubts and their darkness. {For that is Allah, your Lord, the Truth.} [Surat Yūnus: 32] {So high exalted is Allah, the King, the Truth} [Surat Taha: 114] {Thereafter they are returned to Allah, their Lord, the Truth.} [Surat al-An‘ām: 62]

Our Lord is the Truth in His Self, names, attributes, and actions. There is no doubt or suspicion regarding Him. He is the true deity worthy of being worshiped, and there is no other true god worthy of worship.

He is the Truth, Exalted be He, and all else are untruth and misguidance. Whoever takes other than Allah as a god has indeed adopted a falsehood, a fabrication, and untruth. {That is because Allah is the Truth, and that which they call upon besides Him is falsehood, and that Allah is the High, the Great.} [Surat al-Hajj: 62]

Our Lord is the Truth, His speech is true, His actions are true, meeting with Him is true, His messengers are true, His books are true, His religion is true, and worshiping Him alone with no partner is the truth; and everything that is rightly attributed to Him is the truth. {So high exalted is Allah, the King, the Truth} [Surat Taha: 114]

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that whenever the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) got up for prayer late in the night, he would say: “O Allah, You are the Truth, Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Your speech is true, Paradise is true, Hellfire is true, Muhammad is true, and the Hour is true.” [Narrated by Al-Bukhāri and Muslim]

The conflict!

There is an permanent conflict between the truth and falsehood. Whoever is with Allah is indeed upon the clear truth and will win in this world and in the Hereafter. {It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religions, although they who associate partners with Allah dislike it.} [Surat at-Tawbah: 33]

The believers follow the truth. {That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allah present to the people their comparisons.} [Surat Muhammad: 3] And they urge and advise one another to hold fast to the truth: {By the time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who believe, do righteous deeds, and advise one another to truth and advise one another to patience.} [Surat al-‘Asr]

He who rejects the truth after it became apparent to him is indeed arrogant and wrongful to himself. The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Arrogance is to reject the truth and despise people.” [Narrated by Muslim]

Where is the way?

Many people still search for the truth so as to be guided to the True God.

Some rely upon the call of natural disposition within them. {The natural disposition that Allah has created people upon.} [Surat ar-Rūm: 30]

While others turn to the principle of causality, which establishes that every made thing must have a maker, every incident must have an agent that causes it to happen, and every system must have an organizer.

Some others deal with this issue on the basis of calculation. They are the people of doubt and suspicion. They ultimately reach the conclusion that the safer choice for them in terms of their worldly life and that of the Hereafter is to believe in Allah, the Hereafter, resurrection, and reckoning. As the poet says,

“Both the diviner and physician say the bodies will not be resurrected! To them I say: If you are right, I will lose nothing!

But if you are wrong, then you both will be losers!”

Doubt does not lead to salvation. Allah Almighty says: {Can there be doubt about Allah, the Creator of the heavens and earth?} [Surat Ibrāhīm: 10]

There are some among them who are still in confusion and polytheism. We seek refuge with Allah from misguidance after bring guided! {Then is he who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like one who is blind? Only the people of understanding will take heed.} [Surat ar-Ra‘d: 19]

The truth is: Everything that is proved to draw us closer to Allah Almighty is true, and everything that keeps us away from Him is false and wrong. {Say: “If you really love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you.”} [Surat Ᾱl-‘Imrān: 31]

Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) said, “A person is not righteous by merely knowing the truth without loving, wanting, and following it.”

Indeed, the real disaster for a person is not affliction in himself or his wealth or children, but in his religion. That is the biggest disaster and irreparable loss. Doubt replaces certainty, and thus he sees the truth as untruth and the untruth as truth and sees the right as wrong and the wrong as right.

Settle at the valley of salvation!

Could there ever be a great distress or hardship that is not easy to Allah Almighty? Indeed, Allah is the Truth, His speech is true, and His promise is true.

So, it behooves us to trust our Lord, rely upon Him, expect bounty and benevolence from Him, and be attached to His promises. He alone brings benefit and removes harm. His kindness engulfs all, and there is wisdom in whatever He does. With every hardship and distress, He puts ease and relief. After the night, morning comes, and after famine comes rain.

Allah Almighty does not turn down the supplication of a true believer, for He is the Truth and His promise is true. In the Qur'an, He says: {And your Lord says: “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell humiliated.} [Surat Ghāfir: 60]

Hence, all your problems will be solved, all your pains will come to an end, all your dreams will be real, and all your tears will turn into smiles. So, rest assured!

Your poverty will end, your thirst will be quenched, and after separation and severance of ties, there will be reunion and connection. Allah Almighty says: {So rely upon Allah; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.} [Surat an-Naml: 79]

O Allah, show us what is true as true and help us follow it, and show us what is false as false and help us keep away from it!
